Ocelot
Ocelot is a passive mob found in jungles. It is a fast and elusive feline that was once tamable but now only gains trust in players instead of becoming a pet. Ocelots do not drop any items when killed, making them a purely aesthetic and functional mob for controlling hostile creatures. Ocelots cannot be bred directly, but they can be gained as trustful companions by feeding them raw cod or raw salmon. Once an ocelot trusts the player, it will no longer flee but does not follow the player like a tamed cat.
Ocelots are passive mobs and will not attack the player. However, they are natural hunters and will attack chickens and baby turtles. Ocelots are immune to fall damage but still avoid dangerous drops. They are one of the few mobs that can sprint, using their speed to escape from players. Baby ocelots have the same behavior as adults but move faster.
Ocelots cause creepers to stay at least six blocks away, making them useful for creeper deterrence. If a creeper has already started its detonation, it does not flee unless the player moves out of its blast radius. In Bedrock Edition, phantoms stay 16 blocks away from ocelots, providing additional protection against nighttime aerial threats.
Ocelots are very cautious when approaching a player holding raw cod or raw salmon. They will approach from within 10 blocks, but if the player moves, turns their head too quickly, or stops holding the fish within 6 blocks, the ocelot will flee and not attempt to approach again for a few seconds. This makes gaining their trust a slow and careful process.
