Sulfur Stairs

Sulfur Stairs are a decorative block shaped like a staircase, crafted from sulfur materials and following the same placement rules as every other stair variant in the game. Like all stairs, Sulfur Stairs can be oriented in multiple directions and paired with matching slabs to form smooth, gradual architectural transitions in builds.

Sulfur Stairs can be obtained through two methods: crafting six sulfur blocks at a crafting table yields four stairs, or a single sulfur block can be converted into one stair using a stonecutter. Because sulfur is a renewable resource in Minecraft, Sulfur Stairs are themselves considered renewable, making them a practical choice for large-scale construction projects.

Breaking Sulfur Stairs requires at least a wooden pickaxe; mining them without any pickaxe causes the block to drop nothing. They have a hardness of 1.5 and a blast resistance of 6, placing them on the moderate end of durability for decorative blocks. Sulfur Stairs do not emit any light, are incapable of catching fire from lava, and support waterlogging. When placed beneath a note block, they produce a bass drum sound.
