Sulfur
Sulfur is a naturally occurring mineral block found in sulfur caves, where it generates alongside cinnabar, as well as within sulfur pools and sulfur spring formations. Its distinctive pale yellow coloration is recognizable both in the world and on maps, where the block renders as the yellow map color.
Sulfur has a hardness of 1.5 and a blast resistance of 6, making it a moderately durable stone-like material. A wooden pickaxe is the minimum tool required to collect it; attempting to mine it without a suitable pickaxe will not drop anything. Despite its sulfurous nature, the block is neither flammable nor ignitable by lava. When placed beneath a note block, Sulfur causes the note block to produce a bass drum sound.
Sulfur can be crafted by arranging four sulfur spikes in a 2×2 pattern in a crafting grid. Once obtained, it functions as a base ingredient for a range of decorative stone variants. Four Sulfur blocks yield four polished sulfur blocks, while rows of three or six can produce sulfur slabs, walls, and stairs in varying quantities. Nine blocks packed into a full crafting grid compress into a single potent sulfur block.
For more refined shaping, the stonecutter offers additional options. Using it, Sulfur can be converted into slabs, stairs, walls, polished sulfur and its derivatives, sulfur bricks and their variants, and chiseled sulfur, providing considerable flexibility for decorative building projects.
