Suspicious Sand

Suspicious Sand is a fragile block that falls under gravity; it generates in desert temples, warm ocean ruins and desert wells. It cannot be obtained through mining, as it drops nothing when broken, and it also breaks without dropping anything if moved by a piston, affected by gravity, or exposed to explosions.

Suspicious Sand can be brushed using a brush tool, revealing hidden loot depending on its structure of origin. Possible rewards include pottery sherds, emeralds, diamonds, and other items. Once brushed, it converts into regular sand. It is also one of the few blocks where turtle eggs can hatch. This block plays a key role in archaeology mechanics and cannot be placed by players to generate loot.
