Straw Bed

Straw Bed is a single-use sleeping block that lets a player pass through the night in the Overworld without resetting their spawn point. Rather than staying in place afterward, it breaks without dropping anything once the sleeper wakes up or gets out early, so it only ever gives one night's use.

Straw Bed generates naturally inside abandoned camps, where it can also turn up as loot in a barrel with roughly a one-in-three chance, in stacks of two to four. It can be mined with any tool, though a hoe breaks it fastest, and it has a low hardness and blast resistance of 0.2. It stacks up to 16, is transparent, and cannot be waterlogged — placed underwater, it simply pops back off.

Sleeping in Straw Bed clears the weather and keeps phantoms away for three in-game days, the same as a normal bed, but trying to sleep in it inside the Nether or the End just destroys it with no explosion and no drop. It is not bouncy like a regular bed, and unlike a hay bale it will not soften a fall. Villagers never treat Straw Bed as a real bed, so they won't sleep in or claim one, and it plays no part in whether they're willing to breed. Dropped into a composter, it has a 65% chance of raising the compost level by one.
