Poplar Button

Poplar Button is a redstone input block crafted from poplar planks. It belongs to the wooden button family and functions as a momentary switch, sending a redstone signal to connected components when activated. Like other blocks in its category, the Poplar Button can be mounted on the side, top, or bottom of any full opaque block, giving builders flexibility when wiring up redstone contraptions.

When a player clicks the Poplar Button, or when an arrow or thrown trident strikes it, it emits a redstone signal lasting 1.5 seconds, which is 30 game ticks. This is notably longer than the signal produced by a stone button, making the Poplar Button useful in circuits that require a slightly extended pulse. The block deactivates automatically once the timer expires, requiring another activation to trigger again.

The Poplar Button can be broken by any tool or by bare hand, always dropping itself as a collectible item. Axes break it faster than other tools, so bringing one along speeds up removal. In Bedrock Edition, wooden buttons including the Poplar Button are waterloggable, meaning they can exist inside a water source block. Apart from its poplar-wood texture, the Poplar Button is functionally identical to every other wooden button variant in the game.
