Poplar Pressure Plate

Poplar Pressure Plate is an upcoming redstone-sensitive block that belongs to the poplar wood set, recognizable by its distinctive light gray color palette. Like other wooden pressure plates in the game, the Poplar Pressure Plate detects any entity that steps onto its surface and immediately emits a redstone signal at full strength — level 15 — for as long as something remains on it. The signal lingers briefly after the triggering entity moves away, giving it a small delay before deactivating.

Crafting a Poplar Pressure Plate requires only two poplar planks arranged side by side in a crafting grid, making it an accessible component for survival-mode players who have access to poplar trees. It can be retrieved by hand or with any tool, though an axe speeds up the process. With a hardness and blast resistance of both 0.5, the Poplar Pressure Plate is among the more fragile blocks available. In Bedrock Edition, it can also be waterlogged when placed in water.

Beyond its primary role as a redstone trigger, the Poplar Pressure Plate has a couple of secondary uses worth noting. When placed directly beneath a note block, it produces a bass instrument sound. Because it is crafted from wood, it can also serve as a fuel source in a furnace. Players, mobs, boats, and minecarts all activate it on contact, making it useful for automated doors, traps, or detection systems. It stacks up to 64 per inventory slot and is fully renewable through poplar wood farming.
