Brain Coral Block
Brain Coral Block is a block in Minecraft. It can be mined and collected.
Brain Coral Block is a bright pink decorative block found in warm ocean biomes, and is one of five colorful coral block types, alongside tube, bubble, fire, and horn coral. Like the others, it’s primarily used for building, underwater aesthetics, and sea pickle farming.
Brain coral blocks generate naturally in coral reefs, and can also be obtained by trading with wandering traders for 3 emeralds. To collect a Brain Coral Block in Survival, you must use a pickaxe enchanted with Silk Touch. Without Silk Touch, it drops the dead variant instead—a dull, gray version with no animation.
To keep a Brain Coral Block alive, at least one of its adjacent blocks must be water or waterlogged. Otherwise, it will dry out and die after a few seconds, becoming a dead Brain Coral Block. This change is permanent and cannot be reversed.
Brain coral blocks can be placed under note blocks to produce a 'bass drum' sound. They’re also functional in sea pickle farms, where bone meal applied to sea pickles on live coral causes pickles to spread to nearby coral blocks, making them a useful block for renewable light sources.
