Block of Coal

Block of Coal is a storage block crafted from nine pieces of coal. It is primarily used for compact storage and as a powerful fuel source. Blocks of coal generate naturally in trail ruins and require a pickaxe to be mined; otherwise, they drop nothing.

With a hardness of 5, it is more durable than many other blocks. A Block of Coal burns for 800 seconds, smelting up to 80 items, making it 11% more efficient than using nine individual pieces of coal. Like other mineral blocks, it has no additional functionality beyond storage and decoration. When placed under a note block, it produces a bass drum sound.
