Poplar Wood

Poplar Wood is a bark-covered block that displays the outer bark texture of the poplar tree across all six of its faces. Unlike a directional poplar log, which reveals its inner wood grain depending on placement orientation, Poplar Wood presents a uniform bark appearance no matter how it is positioned. It belongs to the wood and hyphae family alongside eleven other variants, including oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, mangrove, cherry, pale oak, crimson, and warped wood.

Poplar Wood can be crafted by placing four poplar logs in a 2×2 arrangement in a crafting grid, producing three blocks as a result. This makes it a practical way to consolidate logs into a consistent bark-textured building material. The block shares its hardness and blast resistance of 2 with other standard wood types, meaning it can be broken by hand and will still drop itself, though using an axe significantly reduces the time needed to collect it.

Like most overworld wood varieties, Poplar Wood is flammable and carries a burn spread rate of 5. Care should be taken when placing it near lava or other heat sources during construction. It also functions as a fuel in furnaces and can be crafted into poplar planks for further use. Using an axe on a placed Poplar Wood block will strip away its bark, converting it into Stripped Poplar Wood and giving it a cleaner, smoother look suitable for different building styles.
