Curse of Binding
Curse of Binding is a treasure curse enchantment in Minecraft that permanently binds armor items to the player once equipped, preventing removal except through death or item breakage. This negative enchantment creates permanent equipment attachment with potentially harmful consequences for unprepared players.
Players can obtain Curse of Binding through fishing for enchanted books, trading with librarian villagers, or discovering it in structure loot from desert pyramids, strongholds, ocean ruins, ancient cities, trial chambers, woodland mansions, and various dungeon chests. The curse also drops from raid mobs in Bedrock Edition as a treasure enchantment.
Curse of Binding prevents removal of equipped armor items through normal means, requiring player death, item durability depletion, or Creative mode to remove. The curse cannot be removed using grindstones or crafting tables, making it a permanent attachment once applied. For items without durability like carved pumpkins, removal becomes impossible in Hardcore mode without commands.
The enchantment affects all entities including mobs and can be strategically used in PvP scenarios or pranks, particularly with carved pumpkins that obstruct vision. Players should exercise extreme caution when equipping unknown enchanted armor to avoid permanent binding consequences.
