Poplar Boat

Poplar Boat is a rideable water vehicle crafted from Poplar Planks, representing one of eleven boat variants available in Minecraft. Like all boats, the Poplar Boat allows players to navigate lakes, rivers, and oceans at a comfortable pace, and it can also glide across packed ice and blue ice at notably high speeds, making it a practical choice for long-distance travel through the Overworld.

To board a Poplar Boat, simply interact with it while it sits on water. Most nearby mobs will automatically occupy an empty passenger seat, though they cannot steer or disembark on their own. The vessel accommodates up to two passengers at once, and it can be attached to a lead, allowing players to tow it behind them when not in use. These behaviors are consistent across all wooden boat types.

The Poplar Boat has 4 health points (equivalent to 2 hearts) and will be destroyed if it sustains enough damage. Any single strike dealing more than 4 HP will instantly break it. When destroyed, the boat drops itself as a collectible item, so it is not permanently lost. Boats are also flammable and can be placed into a furnace as a fuel source in a pinch.

It is worth noting that the Poplar Boat cannot be crafted from Nether wood variants such as Crimson or Warped Planks — only Overworld wood types are used to make boats. Beyond its visual appearance, the Poplar Boat shares all functional properties — speed, buoyancy, passenger capacity, and collision behavior — with every other boat variant in the game.
