Sculk Sensor
Sculk Sensor is a block in Minecraft. It can be mined and collected. It emits light at level 1. It is used to make Calibrated Sculk Sensor.
Sculk Sensor is a redstone-emitting block from the sculk family that detects nearby vibrations caused by player or mob actions. Found naturally in the deep dark biome and ancient cities—or rarely generated by sculk catalysts—these blocks light up and pulse with a sound and redstone output when triggered. Their detection range is an 8-block sphere, and actions like walking, placing blocks, firing projectiles, or opening containers all count as vibrations.
Once triggered, a Sculk Sensor activates for 1.5 seconds and cannot detect other vibrations during that time. The closer the vibration is to the sensor, the stronger the redstone signal it emits (up to level 15). Sculk sensors are also key in triggering sculk shriekers if the source of the vibration is a player, contributing to Warden summoning in the deep dark.
Players can avoid triggering sensors by sneaking, and vibrations can be blocked using wool or carpets, making them useful tools for stealth and redstone isolation. Sensors drop only when broken with a Silk Touch tool (dropping 5 XP otherwise), and hoes are the most efficient for mining them. Their sensitivity and signal strength make them ideal for wireless redstone contraptions, traps, or ambient builds reacting to movement.
