Diamond Nautilus Armor

Diamond Nautilus Armor is a piece of protective equipment designed to be worn by a tamed nautilus mob, reducing the damage that creature sustains during combat. It sits in the second-highest position within the nautilus armor tier, offering more protection than its golden counterpart while remaining a step below netherite nautilus armor in overall strength.

When fitted onto a tamed nautilus, Diamond Nautilus Armor provides 11 armor points and 2 armor toughness. Players can equip it either by using the item directly on the mob or by placing it manually into the dedicated armor slot within the nautilus's inventory screen. It is worth noting that baby nautiluses cannot wear any armor, as they are not rideable at that stage.

Diamond Nautilus Armor cannot be crafted at a workbench or any standard crafting station. Instead, it must be found as rare generated loot inside chests. It has roughly a 1.1% chance of appearing in Buried Treasure chests, Shipwreck supply, treasure, and map chests, as well as small and large Ocean Ruins chests in Java Edition, with slightly lower odds in Bedrock Edition. This makes Diamond Nautilus Armor one of the more uncommon chest loot items in the game.

Players who obtain Diamond Nautilus Armor can upgrade it further by visiting a smithing table and combining it with a Netherite Upgrade smithing template alongside a netherite ingot, producing netherite nautilus armor. The item was first revealed at Minecraft LIVE in September 2025 and introduced in Java Edition 1.21.11 snapshot 25w41a and Bedrock Edition Preview 1.21.130.20.
