Netherite Nautilus Armor
Netherite Nautilus Armor is the top-tier variant of nautilus armor in Minecraft, designed exclusively to be worn by tamed nautiluses and reduce the damage they take during combat. It stands above diamond nautilus armor in both protection and toughness, making Netherite Nautilus Armor the strongest piece of mob equipment available for the nautilus.
Unlike most armor, Netherite Nautilus Armor cannot be crafted at a crafting table. Instead, it is obtained by upgrading a piece of diamond nautilus armor at a smithing table, which requires a Netherite Upgrade smithing template and a netherite ingot. Because netherite ingots are not a renewable resource, Netherite Nautilus Armor is itself non-renewable, meaning supplies are limited to what can be gathered through regular play.
When a tamed nautilus is equipped with Netherite Nautilus Armor, it gains 19 armor points — equivalent to 9.5 armor icons — along with 3 armor toughness and 10% knockback resistance. Players can attach the armor either by using it while directly targeting the nautilus, or by placing it into the dedicated armor slot found within the mount's inventory interface. It is worth noting that baby nautiluses are unable to wear any form of nautilus armor, as they cannot be ridden.
Netherite Nautilus Armor does not stack in the inventory and carries a Common rarity. It was introduced to Java Edition in snapshot 25w41a and to Bedrock Edition in Preview 1.21.130.20, with its initial reveal taking place at Minecraft LIVE in September 2025.
