The Smithing Table is a utility block used to upgrade diamond gear into Netherite gear. It is also the job site block for toolsmith villagers in villages. Unlike an Anvil, upgrading gear with a Smithing Table does not cost experience and preserves existing enchantments.
A Smithing Table is crafted using 2 Iron Ingots and 4 Planks of any type in a 3×3 crafting grid. It also generates naturally in toolsmith houses within villages. To use a Smithing Table, the player must tap on it to open the interface. Placing a diamond tool, weapon, or armor piece in the left slot and a Netherite Ingot in the right slot upgrades the item to Netherite while keeping its enchantments, durability, and custom name if applied.
A Smithing Table can be mined with any tool, but axes break it the fastest.
