Shipwreck is a generated structure in Minecraft.
Shipwreck is a structure found mostly in ocean biomes, but can occasionally generate on beaches, snowy beaches, or embedded in icebergs. It resembles a sunken sailing ship, often in a state of disrepair, and may appear upright, sideways, or upside-down. Rarely, a Shipwreck generates fully intact.
Shipwrecks are made of wooden blocks and typically contain up to three chests, depending on which parts of the ship are present. The bow contains a supply chest, the upper stern has a treasure chest, and the lower stern holds a map chest. Some shipwrecks lack chests entirely if key sections are missing.
Supply chests may contain food, coal, leather armor, and TNT. Treasure chests often hold iron, emeralds, gold, lapis lazuli, or diamonds. Map chests always include a buried treasure map, alongside paper, feathers, and books.
Each Shipwreck uses a limited combination of two wood types for its construction. Although their appearance varies, all shipwrecks offer a chance for valuable loot and access to treasure maps that lead to buried treasure.

Shipwrecks generate in any ocean biome, including warm, cold, and frozen oceans, and they also appear on beaches and partly buried inside icebergs. They can sit upright, tilted, or upside down, and may be intact or broken into separate sections.
A Shipwreck can have up to three chests depending on which sections survive: a supply chest with food and TNT, a treasure chest with iron, gold, emeralds, and diamonds, and a map chest. The map chest always contains a buried treasure map that leads to a buried treasure chest, which in Java Edition always holds a Heart of the Sea.
