Sharpness is an enchantment in Minecraft. It can be applied up to level 5.

Sharpness is a melee enchantment for swords, spears, and axes that increases damage against all hostile mobs and players. This popular enchantment can be obtained through enchanting tables, villager trading, fishing, and various loot chests throughout Minecraft worlds.

Sharpness comes in five levels, with damage scaling differently between Java and Bedrock editions. In Java Edition, the bonus starts at 1 damage and grows by half a point per level, reaching 3 at level V. Bedrock Edition provides 1-6 extra damage with higher scaling at upper levels.

Only golden weapons can receive Sharpness V directly from enchanting tables, while other materials require anvil combinations. The enchantment is mutually exclusive with Smite and Bane of Arthropods. Sharpness is used for PvP combat, mob farming, and exploration, offering consistent damage boosts against any target regardless of mob type.
