Fisherman

The Fisherman is a villager profession in Minecraft that specializes in trading fish and fishing-related items. It uses the Barrel as its job site block, which allows unemployed villagers to take on the profession when placed nearby.

Trades include raw cod, raw salmon, and cooked fish, as well as useful items like campfires and buckets of cod, making them a source of food and fishing-related materials. At the Journeyman level, they offer enchanted fishing rods, which can help players catch better loot while fishing.

They progress through five levels—Novice, Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert, and Master—unlocking better trades as they gain experience. They can be leveled up by trading emeralds, string, coal, and boats.

Fishermen can be zombified and cured to reduce trade costs, making them useful in trading halls. They spawn naturally in villages but can also be assigned the profession by placing a Barrel near an unemployed villager.
