Campfire

The Campfire is a light source and cooking block that can also be used for signaling and bee-related mechanics in Minecraft. It emits light, does not require fuel, and can cook food items over time. A Campfire is crafted using 3 Logs, Wood, or Stripped Wood, 3 Sticks, and 1 Coal or Charcoal in a 3×3 crafting grid. It can also generate naturally in taiga villages and ancient cities. To use a Campfire for cooking, the player can place up to four raw food items on it.

The food cooks slowly, taking 30 seconds per item, before dropping as cooked food. A Campfire does not require fuel and can continuously cook food. A Campfire produces smoke particles that rise up to 10 blocks into the air. Placing a Hay Bale underneath it increases the smoke height to 25 blocks, making it useful as a signal. It can also be used to safely harvest honey from Beehives or Bee Nests without angering bees when placed underneath.

A Campfire can be extinguished using a shovel, water, splash water bottle, or by placing a waterlogged block on it. Once extinguished, it will no longer emit light or cook food until relit with flint and steel or a fire charge. A Campfire can be mined with any tool, but axes break it the fastest.
