Spruce Shelf
The Spruce Shelf is a decorative wooden storage block crafted from six Stripped Spruce Logs arranged in two horizontal rows in a 3×3 crafting grid. It can store and display up to three item stacks, each visible on the front of the block. Interacting with any slot swaps the item in that slot with the one in the player’s main hand, allowing for quick access or organized display of tools, materials, or decorative items.
When powered by redstone, the Spruce Shelf can connect with up to two nearby shelves to form a combined network. A powered shelf swaps its contents with the player’s hotbar—one swaps three slots, two swap six, and three swap all nine. Redstone comparators can detect which slots contain items, outputting a signal strength between 0 and 7. This allows for creative redstone automation and storage systems.
With a hardness of 2 and blast resistance of 3, the Spruce Shelf is efficiently mined using an axe. It is flammable, waterloggable, and compatible with hoppers and droppers for item transfer. The dark, rich tone of spruce wood gives the Spruce Shelf a cozy, rustic appearance, making it perfect for cabin-style builds, medieval interiors, or any design that emphasizes warm, natural textures.
