Waxed Weathered Lightning Rod
The Waxed Weathered Lightning Rod is a mid-aged copper variant of the Lightning Rod that has been sealed with Honeycomb to stop further oxidation. Its surface displays a muted green tone with faint brown patches, representing the third oxidation stage locked in place. Like all lightning rods, it diverts lightning strikes within a 128-block radius in Java Edition (64 in Bedrock Edition) and emits a redstone signal of power level 15 for 0.4 seconds when struck, making it valuable for both redstone automation and structural protection.
The Waxed Weathered Lightning Rod is fully waterloggable and can be oriented in any direction, providing flexibility in design. Its wax coating prevents it from evolving into the oxidized stage, preserving its balanced, aged appearance indefinitely. Using an axe removes the wax, allowing the natural oxidation process to resume.
With a hardness of 3 and a blast resistance of 6, the Waxed Weathered Lightning Rod is sturdy and functional while adding a rustic aesthetic to builds. Its greenish copper hue pairs well with moss, stone, and oxidized copper elements, making it a favored decorative option for builders who enjoy the look of timeworn materials without continuous color changes.
