Parrot

Parrot is a tameable passive mob that spawns in jungle biomes. It can imitate the sounds of nearby hostile mobs and perch on the player’s shoulders, making it both a decorative and functional companion. Parrots drop 1–2 feathers upon death, which can be increased with the Looting enchantment. Parrots cannot be bred and do not have baby variants. They spawn naturally in jungles and come in five colors: red, blue, green, cyan, and gray.

Parrots can be tamed by feeding them wheat seeds, melon seeds, pumpkin seeds, beetroot seeds, torchflower seeds, or pitcher pods. Each feeding has a 1⁄10 chance of successfully taming the Parrot. Once tamed, they follow the player unless told to sit and will teleport to the player if they are more than 12 blocks away.

A player can have one Parrot on each shoulder, with the left shoulder taking priority if empty. Parrots will disembark when the player jumps, takes damage, or enters water. Parrots are attracted to any nearby mobs, including hostile ones, and will follow them closely. If attacked, a Parrot will fly upward several blocks to escape. Parrots also flap their wings to swim and to slow their fall, preventing fall damage.

Parrots can imitate the sounds of nearby hostile mobs, such as zombies, skeletons, and creepers, serving as an early warning system for players. They also dance when music plays from a jukebox, making them a fun decorative pet. Feeding a Parrot a cookie will instantly kill it, referencing real-life chocolate toxicity in birds. A death message is displayed to the owner when a tamed Parrot dies.
