Where do Desert Pyramids generate?
Desert Pyramids — also called desert temples — generate on the surface of desert biomes in the Overworld, partly buried in the sand. Look for the orange-and-blue sandstone top poking out of the dunes.
How far from spawn is the nearest Desert Pyramid?
Often thousands of blocks. Across 200 random worlds, half had a desert temple within 3,500 blocks of spawn on Java and 9 in 10 had one within 6,300; on Bedrock the same figures are 2,900 and 5,500. Each 512 × 512-block area can hold one, but only where it lands in desert, so the distance mostly depends on how far the nearest desert is. Open a marker for coordinates, then dig down through the centre carefully — a stone pressure plate sits over hidden TNT directly beneath the loot chests.
