Chain

Chain is a decorative metallic block that can be placed in horizontal or vertical orientations. It is commonly used to suspend bells, lanterns, soul lanterns, and hanging signs. Chains can be rotated and do not require a supporting block, allowing them to be placed freely in midair.

Chains generate naturally in mineshafts, bastion remnants, ruined portals, and trial chambers. They can be crafted using one iron ingot and two iron nuggets. Chains can also be walked on, making them useful for creating narrow bridges or obstacles. Chains can be pushed by pistons without breaking. In Bedrock Edition, they are not conductive but do not block comparator signals. When placed under a note block, they produce a bass sound.
