Blast Protection
Blast Protection is a specialized armor enchantment in Minecraft that reduces explosion damage and knockback, making it essential for surviving encounters with creepers, ghasts, and TNT explosions. This defensive enchantment can be applied to helmets, chestplates, leggings, and boots with a maximum level of IV.
Players can obtain Blast Protection through enchanting tables, trading with librarian villagers, fishing for enchanted books, or discovering it in structure loot from desert pyramids, strongholds, ancient cities, trial chambers, woodland mansions, and various dungeon chests. The enchantment also drops from raid mobs in Bedrock Edition.
Blast Protection reduces explosion damage by 8% per level, providing up to 32% damage reduction with Blast Protection IV. It protects against creeper explosions, TNT, ghast fireballs, end crystals, wither attacks, firework rockets, and bed explosions in other dimensions. In Java Edition, it also reduces explosion knockback by 15% per level.
The enchantment is mutually exclusive with Protection, Fire Protection, and Projectile Protection, but stacks with other Blast Protection pieces up to an 80% damage reduction cap, making it ideal for players frequently handling explosives or fighting explosive mobs.
