Wandering Trader

Wandering Trader is a passive mob that randomly spawns near the player, offering a selection of nine random trades. These are shown in a consistent order in the trading GUI: two trades from the purchasing table, two from the special selling table, and five from the ordinary selling table. This allows players to obtain natural and rare items that may otherwise be difficult or dangerous to acquire. Unlike villagers, the Wandering Trader does not unlock new trades after being traded with.

Wandering Traders drop 1–3 milk buckets (8.5%–11.5% chance) and a potion of invisibility (8.5%–11.5% chance) if killed while holding or before finishing drinking one. They cannot be bred and do not produce any resources beyond their trades. They spawn naturally near players in villages or open areas, typically accompanied by two leashed trader llamas.

Their llamas will spit at hostile mobs or players if the trader is attacked. The trader drinks a potion of invisibility at night or when threatened to avoid danger. After some time, the Wandering Trader despawns naturally, making its appearance temporary. While it does not have a permanent home, its ability to offer a variety of rare trades makes it a unique and sometimes valuable resource in survival gameplay.
