Quick answer: Sparse Jungle is the thin border jungle, fewer and smaller trees scattered over open grass where dense jungle fades into the land around it. This finder highlights every Sparse Jungle patch on your seed, free, Java & Bedrock.

Where does Sparse Jungle generate?

Sparse Jungle generates on the Overworld surface as a thin band wrapping the edge of dense jungle, where the canopy breaks up into scattered trees and open grass. It works as a buffer between full jungle and the neighbouring biome, so you will nearly always find it hugging a larger jungle.

How do I find Sparse Jungle on my seed?

Enter your seed and the map highlights every Sparse Jungle - click any highlighted patch to read its coordinates. Because it rims dense jungle, the nearest patch usually points you straight at a full jungle just inside it.

What is the difference between Sparse Jungle and Jungle?

Sparse Jungle is a thinner, more open version of the jungle - far fewer trees, smaller canopies with few if any of the giant jungle trees, and a flat, walkable surface, where a full Jungle is dense canopy, vines and undergrowth. You still get jungle wood, cocoa and vines and the odd ocelot, but parrots are far more common in the dense jungle next door and jungle temples generate only in dense Jungle and bamboo jungle, never here. Many players still call it Jungle Edge, the name this biome carried on both Java and Bedrock until the 1.18 rename to Sparse Jungle.

Does the Sparse Jungle finder work on Bedrock?

Yes - both editions, Minecraft 26.2 on Java and 1.26.40 on Bedrock. Sparse Jungle was renamed from Jungle Edge in 1.18 on both editions and generates identically on each. The map highlights every patch on your seed, free and with no sign-up.
