Warm Chicken
Warm Chicken is a passive mob introduced in Minecraft 1.21.5 (Java Edition) and 1.21.70 (Bedrock Edition) as part of the "Spring to Life" update. It is one of three temperature-based variants of the standard Chicken, alongside the temperate Chicken and the Cold Chicken. The Warm Chicken is visually distinguished by its golden feathers, dark beak, and dark legs — an appearance suited to the warm and arid environments it inhabits.
In terms of behavior, the Warm Chicken functions identically to its temperate counterpart. It flaps its wings to slow falls, can be bred using any variety of seeds (including wheat, beetroot, melon, pumpkin, torchflower, and pitcher seeds), and drops Raw Chicken along with zero to one Feathers upon death. The key difference lies in its egg: rather than laying a standard white egg, the Warm Chicken lays Brown Eggs. Throwing a Brown Egg carries a chance of hatching a warm-variant chick, making it the primary way to obtain this variant's offspring from a dropped item.
Warm Chicken spawns naturally across a broad range of hot and dry biomes, such as the Desert, Savanna, Jungle, Bamboo Jungle, Badlands, Mangrove Swamp, and various warm ocean biomes. This sets it apart from other Chicken variants, which appear in cooler or more temperate climates.
When two Chickens of different variants breed together, the chick randomly inherits the variant of one parent, regardless of the surrounding biome. This means players can produce Warm Chicken offspring through selective breeding in virtually any location in the world.
