Warm Pig
Warm Pig is a temperature-based variant of the standard Pig, added to Minecraft as part of the "Spring to Life" update (Java Edition 1.21.5 and Bedrock Edition 1.21.70). It is visually distinct from its temperate counterpart, featuring a rust-brown and orange coat with a muddy tint around its feet — an appearance that draws clear inspiration from the real-world red river hog.
The Warm Pig appears naturally in hot and arid environments. Players can encounter it across a wide range of warm biomes, including the Desert, Savanna, Savanna Plateau, Windswept Savanna, Jungle, Sparse Jungle, Bamboo Jungle, Badlands, Wooded Badlands, Eroded Badlands, Mangrove Swamp, and warm or lukewarm ocean biomes. By contrast, the standard Pig favors plains, forests, and swamps, while the Cold Pig variant inhabits snowy regions and taiga biomes.
In terms of behavior, the Warm Pig functions identically to the regular Pig. It drops 1–3 Porkchops when killed, with the meat automatically cooking if the animal is on fire at the time of death. Like other Pig variants, the Warm Pig can be led using a Lead, fitted with a Saddle, and steered while riding with a Carrot on a Stick. Breeding is triggered by offering any Pig a Carrot, Potato, or Beetroot.
When two Pigs of any variant breed together, the offspring randomly inherits the appearance of one parent. This means the biome in which breeding takes place has no influence on the baby's variant, making it straightforward to breed and maintain Warm Pig populations outside their native biomes.
