Beach is a biome in Minecraft. Mobs that spawn here include Creeper, Slime, Spider, Zombie, and Skeleton.
Beach is a common coastal biome that forms where land meets the ocean, acting as a natural transition zone between mainland terrain and ocean biomes. While most examples appear along shorelines, they can occasionally generate in landlocked locations as well. The shape of a Beach varies considerably — some stretch wide and slope gently, others are short and flat, and some appear jagged where cliffs meet the water's edge. Where mountains rise nearby, the Beach gives way to stony shores, and frozen biomes push it aside in favor of snowy beach variants.

The surface of a Beach is covered entirely in sand, with sandstone underlying it — similar in composition to desert terrain but completely devoid of vegetation. This sandy layer often extends a few blocks beneath the water's surface. Buried treasure chests are a notable feature, frequently hidden just below the sand, and shipwrecks can occasionally be found washed up along the shore, making the Beach a worthwhile area to explore with a shovel and some patience.

Turtles are the only passive mob that naturally spawns in this biome, making the Beach one of the primary places to encounter them in the wild. Standard hostile mobs — including creepers, skeletons, zombies, spiders, endermen, witches, and zombie villagers — appear at night, while glow squids may spawn in the surrounding water. Players running Vibrant Visuals will notice a semi-humid volumetric fog that gives distant terrain a faint orange tint, though general lighting and color grading remain consistent with temperate overworld biomes.
