Birch Forest

Birch Forest is an Overworld biome characterized by dense clusters of birch trees that cover the terrain at a density similar to that of a regular forest. Unlike standard forest biomes, no oak trees or wolves are present here, which gives the landscape a distinctive, uniform appearance defined by the pale bark of birch wood. The biome generates at medium temperatures and commonly borders regular forests, dark forests, jungles, taigas, and temperate mountain ranges, as well as oceans.

The ground of the Birch Forest is frequently covered in wildflower patches alongside scattered bushes, rose bushes, lilacs, peonies, and lilies of the valley, adding a degree of visual variety to the otherwise birch-dominated scenery. In Bedrock Edition, a small fraction of birch trees — roughly 0.035% — naturally generate with a bee nest attached, each containing two or three bees. Due to the biome's moderately high humidity, lush caves may form underground beneath it when it sits near an ocean biome.

The Birch Forest is somewhat rarer than the standard forest biome and is typically divided from old growth birch forests by rivers. Passive animals including sheep, cows, pigs, and chickens are common spawns across the landscape, while hostile mobs such as creepers, zombies, skeletons, and spiders appear after dark. With a temperature value of 0.6, the Birch Forest receives rain rather than snowfall during precipitation events, keeping its terrain green and generally accessible year-round.
