Deep Frozen Ocean
Deep Frozen Ocean is a biome in Minecraft. Mobs that spawn here include Creeper, Drowned, Slime, Spider, and Stray.

Deep Frozen Ocean is a deeper variant of the standard frozen ocean, generated in the coldest temperature zones of the Overworld. Despite sharing its icy theme with the shallower frozen ocean, the water surface in a Deep Frozen Ocean remains unfrozen — meaning no ice sheet covers the top of the water. Icebergs still rise throughout the biome, however, and the seafloor consists of stone topped with a layer of gravel (in Java Edition), with no underwater plant life present.
The Deep Frozen Ocean replaces regular deep oceans wherever frozen temperature conditions apply, typically generating alongside standard frozen oceans and mushroom fields. It runs roughly twice as deep as a normal frozen ocean and may border deep cold oceans at slightly warmer thresholds. Structures including ocean monuments, shipwrecks, and ocean ruins all have a chance of generating within a Deep Frozen Ocean, making it a notable destination for underwater exploration.
Temperature varies across the biome: in its coldest reaches, snowfall can occur above approximately Y=120, while warmer zones see rain instead. Because the water surface is open rather than frozen, mobs such as polar bears, strays, and rabbits appear less frequently here than in the standard frozen ocean, though they are not entirely absent. Rare stony islands may occasionally form, sometimes bearing a few grass blocks and sparse vegetation.
When Vibrant Visuals are enabled, the Deep Frozen Ocean takes on a pronounced icy blue atmosphere through cold color grading and cold sunlight, with the effect appearing slightly brighter around dusk and dawn, giving the environment a distinctly wintry visual character.
