Squid is a passive aquatic mob that spawns naturally in rivers and oceans. It moves freely through the water and does not attack the player. Squids drop 1–3 ink sacs when killed, which can be used for crafting black dye and books and quills. They also drop 1–3 experience upon death. Squids cannot be bred and do not produce any additional resources like eggs or milk. They spawn in groups and despawn naturally if moved too far from their spawning area.
Squids are passive mobs and do not attack the player. If attacked, they will spray ink particles and attempt to flee in a random direction. They can swim in all directions but struggle outside of water, where they suffocate if left on land for too long. Squids can be attached to a lead, allowing players to transport them if needed.
