Cold Pig
The Cold Pig is a cold-climate variant of the standard Pig, introduced in the "Spring to Life" update with Minecraft 1.21.5 on Java and 1.21.70 on Bedrock. It behaves exactly like the temperate Pig but wears a different coat: a pale, creamy fleece that appears fluffier and curlier, echoing the look of pig breeds suited to chilly weather. Aside from this appearance, the Cold Pig is the same familiar passive farm animal.
As its name suggests, the Cold Pig spawns in cold biomes. You can find it across Taiga, Snowy Taiga, Old-Growth Pine Taiga, Old-Growth Spruce Taiga, Windswept Hills, Windswept Gravelly Hills, and Windswept Forest. This contrasts with the default Temperate Pig, which appears in plains, forests, and swamps, and the Warm Pig, which inhabits hotter regions.
Drops, breeding, and behavior match the ordinary Pig. The Cold Pig yields 1 to 3 Porkchops when killed, and these arrive cooked if the animal was on fire at the time. It can be tied with a lead, fitted with a saddle for riding, and steered using a Carrot on a Stick. Feed it Carrots, Potatoes, or Beetroot to breed a pair.
When two pigs breed, the baby randomly takes on the variant of one of its parents rather than the variant tied to the birth biome, so a Cold Pig can produce offspring of either parent's type.
