Ice

Ice is a translucent block found in snowy biomes, frozen rivers, and icebergs. It is slippery, allowing entities to slide, and can be used to create fast transportation systems, including boat highways. Ice can be obtained with a Silk Touch pickaxe; otherwise, it breaks without dropping.

When exposed to a light level above 11, Ice melts into water unless in the Nether, where it sublimates. It can be crafted into Packed Ice but cannot be reverted. Additionally, water in cold biomes can freeze into Ice when exposed to the sky.
