Channeling is a trident enchantment in Minecraft that summons lightning strikes when thrown at entities or lightning rods during thunderstorms, creating dramatic combat opportunities and mob transformations. This weather-dependent enchantment adds elemental damage while enabling fascinating gameplay mechanics through lightning interactions.

Channeling transforms creepers into charged creepers, villagers into witches, pigs into zombified piglins, and switches mooshroom colors when lightning strikes. The enchantment requires thunderstorm conditions in Java Edition. Targeted entities must be exposed to open sky for the effect to trigger successfully.

Players can obtain Channeling through enchanting tables, librarian villager trades, fishing for enchanted books, raid drops in Bedrock Edition, and extensive structure loot including desert pyramids, strongholds, ocean ruins, woodland mansions, ancient cities, and trial chamber vaults.
