Stone

Stone is a common block found underground in the Overworld and on the surface of mountains. It must be mined with a pickaxe; otherwise, it drops nothing. Without Silk Touch, it drops cobblestone instead of itself.

Stone is widely used for crafting, smelting, and trading. It can be smelted into smooth Stone or crafted into Stone bricks, buttons, pressure plates, and more. Silverfish can infest Stone blocks. Placing it under a note block creates a 'bass drum' sound.
