Curse of Vanishing
Curse of Vanishing is an enchantment in Minecraft. It can be applied up to level 1.
Curse of Vanishing deletes the item it sits on the moment you die. Nothing drops, nothing waits on the ground for you to run back to — the item is removed from the world outright, which makes it the only enchantment that can destroy your own gear.
It fires on death and at no other time, so a cursed item is perfectly safe sitting in a chest, a shulker box or an ender chest, and the usual way to live with one is simply to store it before anything risky. With the keepInventory game rule on, nothing drops at all and the curse never gets its chance; without it, everything you were carrying is at risk, not only what you had equipped.
There is no removing it. A grindstone strips every ordinary enchantment from an item and leaves the curse behind, and an anvil is no help either — combining a cursed piece with a clean one carries the curse across rather than cancelling it. Once a piece of gear has it, it has it for good.
As a treasure enchantment it never comes out of an enchanting table; it turns up in fishing catches, in librarian trades and in loot chests, which is exactly why players keep finding it on equipment they were pleased to loot. Some want it there: on a PvP server it guarantees nobody collects your armour after killing you, and paired with Curse of Binding it makes equipment that can neither be taken off nor inherited.
